Frances Louise Haws

November 18, 1935 ~ March 12, 2020

On the morning of March 12, 2020, Frances Louise Haws stepped through the veil to be reunited with husband and family, returning to her Heavenly Father.

Born November 18, 1935 in Auckland New Zealand, Frances was the oldest of 8 children and always revered her parents and birthplace.

Frances lived a full and eventful life and was a light and inspiration to many.

Frances is survived by her siblings, John and Retha Amadio, Dianna Kieffer, Albert Amadio, Ruth Epperson and Sue and Ed Reynolds; her children, Debbie Haws (KY), Reed and Susan Haws (TN), Connie and Jim Mitchell (UT), Bryant and Pam Haws (GA), and Andrea and Labron Plemons (GA); also Twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Bert Haws, her parents Francis Norman Amadio and Edna Mary Sutherland Amadio and sisters Margaret Amadio and Lorna Amadio.

Frances moved from New Zealand with her parents and siblings in 1949, emigrating through Victoria Island, Canada and achieved her U.S. citizenship with the rest of her family. Settling into a simple life in Mesa Arizona, Frances met her Eternal Companion at a mutual dance. Fashioning a life for themselves, Frances and Bennie stood side-by-side in multiple business ventures and through a brief stint in the Marines. Settling in Georgia, they raised their 5 children to revere their LDS faith, hard work and raucous fun.

Frances was recognized as a spiritually valiant person who loved God and her family.  She was a person who loved her crafts and was regarded as a master crafter in crochet.  Her delicate blessing dresses and suits as well and other items, were given as heartfelt gifts to those she loved and are cherished and praised by them to this day.

She was also loved by her many friends and coworkers at the University Of Utah’s Marriott Library and kept in contact with them up until her death.  Because of her time at the University and the love she felt there, Frances was a Ute through and through.

Her relationships with her grandchildren were always close and exceptional and they would travel extensively to visit and spend time with their “Meme”.

Frances Louise Haws is admired and cherished and will be truly missed.
