Frances Gutierrez Herrera

Frances Gutierrez Herrera passed away surrounded by her family on January 25, 2017. Frances was born in Vallecitos, New Mexico on October 24, 1924, the daughter of Josefina Gallegos and Juan Isidiro Gutierrez. She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School and graduated from Chama High School. In 1945, she married Edumenio Herrera at St. Joseph’s Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Frances is survived by her brothers, Frank (Mela) Gutierrez of Odessa, TX; Perfecto (Alicia) Gutierrez of Albuquerque, NM; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Gutierrez of Albuquerque, NM; Rose (Vaughn) Ashley, and Maria Herrera of Ogden, UT; children, Arturo (Linda) Herrera, Marie (Mike) Neri, Joseph (Pauline) Herrera, Eddie Herrera, Sally (Jimmy) Aguilar, and Anna (Richard) Whitlock, all of Utah; and son-in-law, Allen Nelms of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Josie Edwards Nelms; infant son, Edward; daughter-in-law, Bambi: brothers, Adrain, Benito, Raynel, Max, and Jose Delores Gutierrez; and sisters, Irene Bollinger and Molly Russom; and both her parents.
Frances greatest joy was time spent with her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews that were a part of her life.
The family would like to thank Family Tree Assisted Living in the care they provided her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th St., Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
