Gama Hill passed away surrounded by family on November 4th, 2017 and was joyously reunited with her mother Georgette Christensen and numerous family members in Paradise. She was 46 years old. Fran, as she is known, is survived by her husband, Christian Hill, sons Christopher Gama, Timothy Hill, and daughter Savannah Hill. She is also survived by her father James Christensen (Katie), sisters Dawnette Snyder (Stephen), Laura Arballo (Adrian), brothers Ted Christensen (Donna), Andy Christensen (Kristen), Mark Christensen (Char), beloved in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Fran will be greatly missed by all who knew her, even a little. As a child Fran was a peacemaker and was conscientious of how others felt. She had the ability to make others feel loved and accepted. Fran was a good friend to many. She was positive, upbeat, and could always make others laugh with her amazing sense of humor. Her smile and laugh were contagious! She lifted others spiritually and made them want to be better. She had many talents, and was very artistic. She loved scrapbooking with family and friends. She was accomplished at decorating and decorated her home for each holiday in amazing and creative ways. She was a part of Heaven on earth.
Fran was born in Fortuna, California on January, 1971 to James and Georgette Christensen. They moved to West Jordan, Utah shortly after, where they lived for four years. Fran was raised in Hollister, California where she attended school through her junior year at San Benito High School. She participated in their band, playing the flute, and loved going to the beach. In 1989 the family moved to West Weber, Utah, where she attended her senior year of high school at Weber High School in North Ogden, Utah, and graduated in 1990.
Fran served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Phoenix Arizona from 1992 to 1993. It was there that she was first introduced to her future husband, Christian Hill. Upon completing an honorable mission, she returned home and attended Utah Valley University for two years.
After college Fran lived in Kirtland, Ohio. Later she was a nanny in New Jersey. She also lived in Holladay and Layton, Utah. In 2000 Fran married Natan Gama. Fran and Natan were blessed with their son Christopher Gama in 2003. He is the light of Fran’s life and she loved doting on him! Fran, Natan, and Christopher lived in Layton, Utah until 2010 when the couple divorced. Fran and Christopher lived down the street from Natan, who remained close friends through the years. They continued to spend holidays and vacations together.
Twenty-two years after serving in the same LDS Mission zone, Fran was reintroduced to Christian Hill and romance blossomed. There was a bounce in Fran’s step as love brought new hopes and dreams. On January 30th of 2015 Fran was married to her sweetheart and moved to San Diego, CA. Fran and Christian blended their families and were happily married. They were later sealed in the San Diego Temple in May 2016. Fran loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She created a loving environment and felt loved and cherished. Fran was the Relief Society President for the Mira Mesa 2nd Ward at the time of her passing. She lived a wonderful life reflecting perfectly the traits of love and service to others. Her passing, in the SHARP Memorial Hospital in San Diego, was unexpected and a shock to her friends and loved ones. Surely she had completed the plan Heavenly Father had for her and was called home, returning with honor.
