Frank D. Berrett, age 84, passed away at his home on March 2, 2022 in Layton, Utah with his family at his side. He was born on October 19, 1937 in Ogden, Utah to Charles And Myrtle Berrett.
He married Judy Farr, his high school sweetheart, and love of his life on March 15, 1957. They spent 65 wonderful years together and raised three beautiful children.
Frank was a gifted athlete. He played first string varsity basketball at Weber State and Brigham Young University. He received many honors and recognitions throughout his basketball years. He was also an avid golfer and even had a hole in one golfing at Oakridge Country Club, where he and Judy were members, and spent many years with friends and golf buddies. Frank also loved biking and skiing and spent many years as a referee and umpire.
Frank served two years active duty in the US Army. After graduating from Weber State, he went on to have a career with the United States Department of Agriculture as a US Forest Service Engineer. He received the Certificate of Merit in 1984 and was instrumental in implementing one of the first large computer systems for the Forest Service. After retiring, he enjoyed driving the school bus for Davis County. He was loved by all the children on his routes.
Frank affectionately known as Pa, loved his family and was always there for his wife, kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He had a quick wit and sense of humor that will be missed by his family and many friends. The family gathered to celebrate his life and share their many happy memories of him.
He is survived by his wife Judy, his children, Ken (Arlene), Cindy (Robert), Missy (Don), eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
