Frank Fredrick Brown (Fred)
KAYSVILLE a" Frank Fredrick Brown (Fred), 69, passed peacefully away from Alzheimer''s on Friday, December 17, 2010 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 11, 1941 to Frank Preston and June Barbara Burch Brown in Ogden, Utah.
Fred married Michael Ann Whiteley Brown on June 11, 1965 in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple in 1975.
He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces Airborne Division.
Fred attended Ogden City and Logan elementary schools, graduating from Raytown High School in Raytown, MO. He received a Bachelor''s Degree in science education from Weber State College, Master''s Degree science education and Secondary Education Administration Certification from University of Utah.
He taught science, physics and chemistry primarily at Davis High School from 1971 to 1983. During his career he was Vice Principal of Viewmont High School, Davis District Science Coordinator, Davis District Curriculum Director, Asst. Superintendent Granite School District and returned to teach chemistry again at Davis High School before finally retiring.
He loved to be with his family. Fred loved water skiing, houseboating at Lake Powell each year, hiking, snow skiing, science of any kind, horseback riding, traveling with friends and family and "puttering in the garden."
Fred was a member of the LDS Church and served in many positions including Elder''s Quorum President, bishopric of Kaysville 20th ward, and worker in the Bountiful Temple.
Preceded in death by his parents and half-brother Franklyn Brown, mother-in-law Georgia Whiteley.
Survived by wife, Michael Ann, sons, Justin (Emily), Trenton (Brittani), Dixon (Rochelle) 12 grandchildren, father-in-law, J. Clair Whiteley, one brother, Farrell Preston Brown (Annette) and half-brothers and sisters, Anna (Buzz) Kraus, Thomas (Margaret) Brown, Julie Brown, sister-in-law Donna Brown, Graylon (Katheryn) Brown, all of Utah; Chris Godinez (Mike), TX; Carol Watkins (Pat), Debbie Hines, Bruce Watkins, AZ; Uncles Dean Burch (Elaine), and Lenzi Nelson (Shirley).
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Crestwood Stake Center, 855 East Mutton Hollow. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
