Frank Alan Bruno

Frank Alan Bruno, age 59, passed away May 8, 2015 in Sandy, Utah. He was born in La Salle, Illinois on August 4, 1955, the oldest son of Salvatore Francis Bruno and Lorraine Lydia Gedye. He graduated from Rancho High School in North Las Vegas, Nevada, and considered Las Vegas his hometown.

Frank was a very accomplished and talented man. He worked on his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in History from Brigham Young University where he was able to work for the Religion department and helped compile the Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson . He also received a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Hawaii and an Educational Doctorate degree from Ball State University. He worked in various libraries for 25 years. He loved being involved in libraries and was a pioneer in digitization of libraries. He always said that the library paved the path to his education and ability to obtain his higher education and was proud to be involved in an organization that would help pave many on their quests for education and knowledge. He also loved research and published many works. His favorite hobby was genealogy. He made great strides in his genealogical research.

Frank was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will forever be missed.

Frank is survived by his daughters; Genevieve (Stuart) Larsen, Gianina (Eric) Harris, Flora (Craig) Roddin, Annika (Keith) Hantla, Deseret Bruno, Francesca Bruno, Michael Bruno, and Nikita Bruno. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Chiara Larsen, Asher Larsen, Navy Larsen, Fiera Harris, Ottalie Hantla, and Lukas Larsen. He is also survived by his siblings Sally Bruno, Nancy (Rick) Sierkieka, Gary Bruno, and Barry (Carmen) Bruno. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday May 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Provo City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
