Frank was living at home, taking care of his three horses and enjoying his time visiting with family and friends before he was taken to the hospital. He died a week later on May 15, 2010 at the age of 96 with a full head of hair and his boots on.
Frank was born in Salt Lake City and lived with his family at 3492 Highland Drive. He graduated from Granite High School and spent four years in the Navy during the 1930''s. After the Navy, he enjoyed going to dances where he met Gertrude Barlow and they were married on December 4, 1940. Frank was called back into the Navy in 1942 where he served in the Pacific during the war. A few years after the war, Frank and Gertrude purchased a 40 acre farm in Roy where they raised their five children.
Frank retired from Del Monte after working at the division office in Ogden for over 20 years. While working at Del Monte, Frank operated his 40 acre farm with the help of his family. Frank''s whole life has been around horses. He enjoyed racing horses during the summer and chariot racing during the winter.
Frank and Gertrude moved to a smaller two acre farm in Hooper in 1978. They were married for 63 years before her death in 2003. He was also preceded in death by his son Wayne in 2009.
Frank is survived by his four children David (Lynette) Eliason, Norma Jean (Terry) Lewis, Kathlene (Jay) Johnson, and Martin (Wendy) Eliason. Also surviving are his 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 22nd at 11 a.m. at the Homestead Ward Chapel, 5375 South 5900 West in Hooper.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Homestead Ward.
Interment, Hooper City Cemetery.
