Frank Allen Gailey Sr.

March 19, 1929 ~ July 12, 2017

Frank Allen Gailey, Sr., 88, passed away peacefully July 12, 2017, at Davis Hospital of Natural causes.  He was born on March 19, 1929 to Francis and Eliza Ann Dyson Gailey.

He married Elsie Yvonne Horspool on August 7, 1948.  They later divorced.

Allen served in U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Korea and then the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

He married Elaine Owens in 1972.  He was later sealed in the Bountiful Temple to Elsie Yvonne Horspool and Elaine Owens.

He worked at several different jobs over the years including taxi driver, truck driver for Slade Transfer and Storage, Job Corp dispatcher, and retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1990. He then drove bus for the Davis School District.

Allen enjoyed bowling, fishing, traveling, and caring for his dogs.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Yvonne, wife Elaine, daughter Julie, sisters Phillis, Lola, and Marilyn.

He is survived by his children: Jerry (Debra) Gailey, Patricia Bolan, Frank (Carey) Gailey Jr., Eric Gailey, and Shelly (Bob) Bolan; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister Elaine (Dean) Burch and brother James Gailey and David (Betty) Gailey.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
