Frank Howard Hadley passed away July 24, 2008 in Ogden, Utah of natural causes.

He was born December 24, 1921 in Plain City, Utah. He was the older of two sons born to Howard Hadley and Ida LaVerna Weatherston. Frank grew up in Plain City, attending Plain City Elementary school through the 8th grade and Weber High grades 9 through 12th, graduating in 1940. He attended Weber State College before being drafted into the United States Navy during World War II in 1944, serving in the Pacific fleet. He married Della Bartlett on October 27, 1943 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Frank was a member of the Plain City 3rd ward. He was very active in his church callings his entire life. He served in the young men''s organization for many, many years. He also served as leader and coach of baseball, basketball and softball, taking many of his teams to All-Church Tournaments. Frank and Della served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1985-1986 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Frank retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad as a machinist after working from the age of 19. He served on the Plain City Planning Commission and City Council. As a young man he played on many All-Church teams in both basketball and softball. He also played baseball with the Farm Bureau League. He loved to work in the soil. He was a part time farmer on his small farm raising crops of sugar beets, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, asparagus, alfalfa and cattle. His garden was something to see, he had the straightest rows and absolutely no weeds. He loved flowers of all kinds, but especially roses.

Surviving are his daughter: DeeAnn and Ronald Larsen (Plain City), sons: Blair and Leslie Hadley (Las Vegas), Douglas and Diane Hadley (Ogden), daughter-in-law: Shawna Hadley-Smith, 17 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister-in-laws: Florine Hadley and Betty Bartlett. He was preceded in death by his wife Della, a brother Harold Hadley, son Alan, granddaughter BreAnn and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 29th at 11 a.m. at the Plain City Stake Center, 4630 West 2150 North.

Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., and Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center.

Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
