Frank Hare Sr.

LAYTON – Frank Lee Roy Hare Sr., 91, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the George E Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden, Utah.

He was born October 13, 1925 in Clairton, PA; the son of Lee Roy and Venus Brown Hare.  While serving in World War II, he met Jolanda Eva Konigsberger.  They were married August 21, 1945 in London, England, and later were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.  They returned to Frank’s hometown in PA and in 1947 moved to Utah as Frank worked at HAFB, first in South Ogden then moving to Layton in 1960.  After his retirement they served an LDS Mission at the Frankfurt, Germany Temple.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife Jolanda, brother Don (Dorothy) Hare, 10 children, Lanny Telford, Frank (Jackie) Hare, Vivian (Paul) Evans, Roger (Elaine) Hare, Bob (Cheryl) Hare, Janice (Mel) Hansen, David Hare, Chrissy (Paul) Sesson, Venus (Roy) Hale, Patti Hare, 49 grandchildren, 103 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren at last count.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

Friends may visit family Friday, January 13, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment Lindquist Memorial Park at Layton.
