Frank W. Johnson
SOUTH OGDEN – Frank Walton Johnson, 85, died Monday, January 26, 2009 at Mtn. Ridge Assisted Living.
He was born May 2, 1923 in Ogden, a son of Arthur W. and Elizabeth Walton Johnson.
Frank married Shirlee Robbins in June of 1946. She preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of World War II where he flew in many combat missions.
He worked in the real estate industry for many years.
Frank was a pilot and enjoyed flying. He loved tending to horses, dancing and music. He enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends, and most of all, spending time with his wife. He loved his son and grandchildren. His favorite place to live was at Bear Lake in Fish Haven, Idaho. Frank was funny, most kind, loving and extremely frugal.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Jordan (Jonathan) Maley and Taylor Johnson, one great-grandchild on the way, his sister, Irene (Curt) Gardiner, and Edna Moore, a special family cousin.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, son, Brent, brother, Ray Johnson, one sister, Dorothy Moyle, and stepbrother and stepsister, Arthur and Edith Johnson.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday from 2 to 2:45 p.m.
