FRANK FULLMER LINFORD
1935-2017
Frank Fullmer Linford, son of LaRue Hodges Linford and Dott Fullmer Linford, born on October 7, 1935 in Logan, UT, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2017 in Elk Ridge, UT.
Frank spent his early years in Star Valley, WY, Logan, Brigham City, Layton and Salt Lake City, UT.
Frank began working with his father at Linford Brothers' Glass Company at the age of 10 in 1946. He worked there until he started The Glass Company in 1982, which he owned and operated with his brother, David, until he retired in 2001. Frank graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City in 1954. He joined the Utah National Guard and served as a Sergeant in the Motor Pool. He faithfully served a mission in the North British Mission.
Frank was a faithful member of the LDS Church. He was sealed to his sweetheart, Darlene Tracy Linford, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on October 7, 1959. They lived in Salt Lake until they moved to Bountiful, UT in 1967 where Frank resided until 2015 after which he moved to the Elk Ridge Assisted Living in Elk Ridge, UT.
Frank was a master mechanic and had unusually strong capabilities to work with his hands and could repair and craft anything. Family and friends often relied on his skills in times of need, and he willingly complied with their requests for help. He loved to rebuild automobiles from the inside out. He loved construction and working with glass and mirrors. He had a great sense of humor and people loved to be around him. He loved his family and friends from the Bountiful 16th Ward and at Elk Ridge Assisted Living.
Frank is survived by his children Susan Linford Gardner (Kim) and Steven Tracy Linford (Melanie); his sister Donna Linford Putnam; and brothers David (Marilyn), Jim (Cheryl), Rick (Karol); brother-in-law Herb Tracy (Barbara). He is also survived by his grandchildren Jared (Rose) Gardner, Krystal (Andrew) Webb, Aaron Gardner; grandchildren, CJ Linford, Kilee Linford Loveridge (Neil), Kolby David Linford (McKenna); and great-grandchildren Olivia Loveridge, Tyler, Mason, and Justin Gardner, Siena, Parley, and Joseph Webb.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, wife Darlene, brother-in-law Robert Putnam, sister Janice Linford, and sister-in-law, Karel Linford.
The family wishes to express profound gratitude to all family, friends and medical professionals who have assisted in any way with the love and care shown to Frank over the years.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Bountiful 16th Ward Chapel, 720 E. 550 N. Bountiful. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400. E. and from 10-10:30 a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will follow at Bountiful City Cemetery.
