Frank Angelo Orazio
LAYTON a" Frank Angelo Orazio, 80, passed away at home with his loving wife by his side, Sunday, February 7, 2010 due to complications from lingering illnesses.
He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York the son of Frank and Adele Wantscheck Orazio.
Frank trained to become a life guard and became head life guard at Coney Island until he left college and joined the U. S. Air Force in 1952. As a pilot, Frank flew KC-135 refueling and B-57 aircraft. He was stationed at bases all over the world as well as flew missions in Vietnam. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, as well as many other metals while in the service. Upon retiring from the U.S. Air Force, Frank earned a degree in automotive engineering.
Frank married Patricia Joan Van Vliet on January 12, 1972 in Riverdale, Utah. Together, Frank and Pat, enjoyed traveling in their RV, fishing and especially to visit all of the family. Frank also loved his home, cooking and his vegetable garden. Frank was a unique person once you met him you never forgot him!
Surviving are his wife Pat, Layton; sons, Chris (Sandy) Orazio, AZ; Carl (Anne) Orazio, MO; daughter, Cynthia (Terry) Burton, CO; step-sons, Steve (Angie) Van Vliet, ID; Mike Van Vliet, UT; step-daughters, Jacquie (Tom) Maruri, IL; Kristie (John) Miles, UT; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one sister, Gloria DiGirolamo, NY.
Preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
Cremation under the direction of Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

A family service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in the spring.
