Frank William “Bill” Ostler
OGDEN – Bill Ostler passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 at his home after celebrating his 88th birthday.
He was born March 15, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frank Leonard and Ada Jennie Holmes Ostler. He graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake City.
Bill married Pauline Beth Olsen April 1, 1942 in Salt Lake City, and in 1945 they moved to Ogden.
Bill served his country with the U.S. Navy for four and a half years during World War II.
He was employed as a mechanic and was a member of the Ogden Pineview Yacht Club where he served as Commodore and Secretary. He enjoyed boating, snowskiing and golf.
Bill is survived by his wife Pauline, Ogden; sons, Roger (Kathleen) Ostler, Ogden; Frank (Jessie) Ostler and Kent (June) Ostler, both of Las Vegas, NV; Lynn (Pam) Ostler, Ogden; and James (ReNae) Ostler, Elko, NV; daughter, Jean (Pat) Canavan, Chicago, IL; brother, O. Don Ostler, and sister, Virginia Harris, both of Salt Lake City; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
