1921-2015

Frank Morrissey Rankin passed away February 17, 2015 at the age of 93 surrounded by his loved ones in his home in Centerville, Utah.

He was born December 17, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah; the son of George Wood and Lilly Maude Morrissey Rankin.  Married Fay Stoddart, February 14, 1942.

A resident of Centerville for many years, he was known as “Friendly Frank” at the local car wash where he worked, after his retirement from the Union Pacific Railroad.  He was a combat veteran of WWII and a Purple Heart recipient.

He is survived by wife Fay; son Kenneth Frank Rankin, daughters Karla Kay Sorensen (Greg) and Kathy Jones (Terry) and many grand and great-grandchildren that he loved dearly.  Preceded in death by his parents, 11 siblings, and daughter-in-law Gae.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit family from 12:30-1:30 pm prior to services. Interment Centerville City Cemetery.
