Frank Carr Rueff, Sr.

Frank Carr Rueff, Sr., age 88, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015, from complications with pneumonia in Ogden, Utah. Frank was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 6, 1927 to Frank William and Gertrude A Carr Rueff. He is a WWII Veteran and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Janet Ann Tobin.
He was an accomplished artist and painter and passionately shared his talents to community projects and taught watercolor classes as a past time. In retirement Frank and Janet were most proud of taking in special needs babies whenever needed. Frank’s professional career was as a draftsman, helping design fuel systems for the Apollo Space Missions and with the Space Shuttle. He received the Silver Snoopy Award from the NASA Astronauts while working for the Thiokol Corporation. He held many patents during his life and earlier in his career ran a company making one of the first fiberglass sailboards of his own design.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his brothers Marten and Jimmy, his sisters Kitty and Dorthy. He is survived by his sisters Mary, Betty, and Joan; three children, Frank, Diana, and Michael; grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Katheryn, Brooke, Morgan, Audrey, Patrick; great-grandchildren, Addison and Olivia.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the family home. Interment will be done at a later date at St. Roch Cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
