Frank Tribe

November 10, 1922 ~ May 29, 2017

Frank Tribe passed away May 29, 2017.   He will be remembered affectionately as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was the son of Charles E. and Viola Tribe and had two brothers Charlie and Merrill Tribe.

Frank was born on November 10, 1922. He graduated from Ogden High and attended the University of Utah where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi. During World War II he served in the Army Tank Corps. His division fought from Omaha Beach, beyond the Siegfried Line through France, Holland, Belgium, and Germany. He worked in retail sales and management for Blocks until his retirement in 1985. He considered it one of life's privileges to remain friends with school mates and coworkers throughout his life.

Helping others with sobriety was an important part of Frank's life work. He was instrumental in establishing the Davis County Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous and was a lifelong counselor and advocate. Reaching out unhesitatingly with loving care, he touched many along the way.

Frank was extremely proud of his wife Carol and daughters Kris and Kim. He had a tremendous admiration for the talent of his son-in-laws Scott Hale and Larry Rea. He always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren and passing on what he considered to be life's important considerations. His sense of humor made everyone laugh and all enjoyed being with him.

Playing golf with his young friends that affectionately called him the "Legend" was a passion. If he couldn't be at the golf course, he wanted to be at his South Fork cabin where he was an avid gardener and friend to nature.

Frank is survived by his wife, Carol Cowley Tribe; his two daughters Kris Hale and Kim Rea; and his two grandchildren, McKinley and Ian Hale.

The family wishes to thank the staff's loving care and friendship for Frank at both St. Joseph Senior Apartments and Mountain Ridge Assisted Living Center.

A Life Celebration is being held in his honor, Saturday June 3, 2017.. For details please contact his family.
