Frank R. Zacher
OGDEN – Frank Roy Zacher, 81, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at McKay-Dee Hospital following a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 30, 1927 in Balta, North Dakota, a son of George and Margaret Abel Zacher. He was raised and educated in North Dakota.
On October 16, 1948, Frank married Rema Arvilla Beus at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ogden.
Frank was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
He loved serving his country with the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged on February 17, 1947.
He retired from Hill Air Force Base where he worked as a civil engineer.
Frank was a member of the N.C.O. Club at Hill Air Force Base. He loved square dancing, camping, and yard work. Most of all, Frank loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his two dogs Bobby Joe and Katie. He was a very thankful person for the support from his family and friends throughout his life and especially during his illness. Frank also expressed his thanks to Dr. Vincent Hansen and his associates in the Oncology Department at McKay-Dee Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Rema Arvilla of Ogden; four daughters, Cheryl Mae Zacher, Ogden; Pamela Christine (Lawrence) Mora, San Antonio, TX; Vickie Lynn (Lenard) Fuller, Ogden; Kathleen Marie (Jessie) Jacobson, Plain City; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Alice Fisher, Ogden; Irene Stoeber, Denver, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harry Zacher.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 – 24th Street.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
