Franklin Dennis Ball, 80, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born March 5, 1934 in Fairview, Wyoming, a son of Ardell James “Cy” and Luella Barrus Balls. He was raised and educated in (Bitter Creek) Star Valley.

On January 5, 1955, Frank married Gayle Allred in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Wyoming and later settled in Clearfield.

He served in the National Guard and as a volunteer fireman in Star Valley. Frank retired from Hill Air Force Base where he was employed as a machinist.

Frank was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, hunting, storytelling, joking and fishing.

Frank is survived by his wife, Gayle, their children, Gary Dennis (VarJean), Jan Luella (Tim) Holmes, Michael Lynn, Cody James, Matthew Jason (Dayna), ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17th at the Clearfield 18th Ward, 151 North 1000 West. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 16th at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
