Franklin Delano Sanders

Franklin Delano Sanders, 83, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 22, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to Burton Franklin Decatur and Addie Cora Lillian Brady Sanders. He graduated from Ogden High School and received two Bachelor’s degrees from Weber State College; one in Social Work and the other in Gerontology.
On April 10, 1953, Frank married Ruby Sandberg in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Frank was a real estate broker, served on the Board of Directors for United Savings and Loan, worked for the State of Utah and later was a campground manager.
He was a faithful member of the LDS church where he served in several different callings.
He enjoyed square dance calling for 30 years, fishing, hunting, camping, anything in the great outdoors and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruby; their children,; Cindy (Scott) Shepherd, Syracuse; Frank (Bobbi) Sanders, Marriott/Slaterville; Shelley (Cary) Mark, Hooper; Shawnee (Stan) Lowry, Clearfield; 19 grandchildren 39 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
The family wishes to thank Inspiration Hospice and all the doctors from Intermountain Healthcare for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
