Franklin Dean Storey

1932 ~ 2018

Franklin Dean Storey, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Kaysville, Utah on January 31, 2018.  He was born on February 25, 1932 in Ogden, Utah to James Frederick Storey and Irene Harris Storey.  He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.   After he returned home, he graduated from the University of Utah with an MBA degree.

He married Marian Hyde on June 24, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  They began their life in Ogden, and then made their home in Kaysville, Utah.  He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings, including in a branch presidency, young men’s and scouting.   He worked at Hill Air Force Base as a procurement officer where he was one of the few civilians selected to attend the Maxwell Air Force Base Command and Staff School.

He was an active member of his community serving in the Jaycees and he was instrumental in establishing the Autumn Glow Senior Center.  Much of his time was spent working in his own cherry orchard and carrying on his father’s legacy by running the Storey Sweet Memory pickle business.  He will be missed for his gregarious nature, friendly smile, good humor, and generous heart.

He is survived by his wife, Marian, three children; Jann (Blaine) Leonard, Dean (Lauri) Storey, Kirk (Karyn) Storey, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Kaysville 7th Ward LDS Chapel, 331 S. 50 W. Kaysville, Utah.  Friends may visit with family 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main St. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery, Kaysville, Utah
