Fred Brimhall

March 12, 1951 — March 1, 2025

Fred Brimhall peacefully “flew west” in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 1, 2025. He was born in Ogden, Utah and spent a good portion of his life in Roy and surrounding areas. He and his brother were well known in their hometown as the Brimhall Brothers.

Fred held many varied occupations from his youngest days as the “other” satellite and cable guy with his brother Douglas and onto becoming a car dealer, auto transport driver, working for B and D Auto Mart and Black Hawk and Yellow Eagle Mining Co. He also started a couple of small businesses. Rich and Rare Antique Dealership and Tropical Paradise Car Wash. Possibly a few missed over a good lifetime cut a bit short.

Fred was an avid pilot, fisherman, and admirer of much of nature’s earthly gifts, being happiest at the riverbed, in the mountains and taking to the skies. He was unique in cherishing the great outdoors. He could often be found under the moon, locating the nearest mountain range or admiring the grandeur of the early morning sunrise arriving or watching the colors of the sun leaving the day behind.

Fred was unlike most, practiced at living in the present. He was a talented painter of aircraft and loved the restoration of things from the past. His interests varied from antique automobiles, airplanes, and motor and sail boats to mechanics, woodworking, and mining and certainly a few more. Yes, he was unlike most. He had the working hands and inquisitive curiosity of our father, which he also shared with his little brother.

He possessed the positive attitude and gentle spirit of our mother which will live on through many of us. He embarked on many adventures and loved to be the storyteller of all, where he acquired many great friendships and acquaintances along the way. Because you were unlike most, Brother, we will keep you close at the heart by the many reminders of the day….a small plane over-head, a falcon perched atop a light pole, a murmur in the cold winter sky and each and every sunrise and sunset we can catch. Mostly, when the clock strikes a palindrome – I will think of you then, my Brother. Your blue green eyes, that windy, almost quiet whistle of an unknown tune from under that most famous mustache we have NEVER seen you without. Your weathered busy hands and the campfires you loved so much, will all come back to us in a warm flush. May my brother remain unlike most, the watcher of the sunrise, the counter of the stars, the mapper of mountain roads and the surveyor of calm waters in his new existence.

We thank all of those who knew him in friendship and came to know him in love. Family:

It is not so much for it’s beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air, that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit. -Robert Louis Stevenson
