CLEARFIELD a€" Fred Martin Germer, 90, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2007 surrounded by his loving wife and children.

He was born March 10, 1917 in Deweyville, Utah the son of Henry and Minnie Poulsen Germer.

Fred married Vica Hall on January 20, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple.

He retired as an aircraft mechanic and supervisor from Hill Air Force Base with over 30 years of service.

He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. Some of his callings included Elders Quorum President and Young Men''s President. He served a full-time mission to Columbia, South Carolina with his wife and was a Temple Worker in the Ogden Temple.

Fred was a charter member of the North Davis Jr. Chamber of Commerce, served twice as PTA President and was a charter member of the Davis County Mounted Sherrif''s Posse for 12 years.

He loved horses, pack trips to the Uinta Mountains, woodworking, gardening, square dancing, ballroom dancing, hunting and fishing. Fred was a perfectionist, never idle, always a job to do and service to others.

Surviving are his wife Vica, son Reid M. (Bonnie) Germer, Layton, daughters Lois (Randy) Eberhard, Clearfield; Mary Jean (Neil) Knudsen, Clinton; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Irvin and Ralph Germer and one infant son.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield Stake Center, 935 So. State Street. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Washington Terrace Health Services and Vista Care Hospice for the tender care given to Fred.
