Fred LeRoy Hill, Jr., 87, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Country Pines Assisted Living.

He was born May 10, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Fred LeRoy and Millie Richeson Hill.

On September 29, 1952, Fred married Shirley Hales in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised three children.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he enjoyed serving in many callings. Fred served in the Southern States Mission and also an Ogden Temple Mission.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Fred worked for Marquart for over ten years and retired from E-Systems/Ratheon after 20 years of work as a metal plater.

He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, watching western and war movies and going out for dinner. Fred is survived by two sons, Scott (Tammy), Roger (Cheryl), nine grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Cynthia Blechert, and brother, Jack E. Hill.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
