CLEARFIELD – Fred E Sosa, 81, returned to his Heavenly Father on January 12, 2015. He was born in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico on July 28, 1933 to Fernando and Fertosa Romero Sosa. He joined the Army and was an Airborne Ranger. He was very proud of all the jumps he did. He was chosen to train others to be Airborne Rangers. He met the love of his life, our mother, Stella when he got out of the Army. Years after they married they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. She passed away on February 4, 2012.

He worked at HAFB for 30 years. He enjoyed his family and volunteering at the Ogden LDS Temple. He served as a President of an Ogden Spanish Speaking Branch for the LDS Church. He loved reading the scriptures. He enjoyed going camping and fishing with his family.

Fred is survived by his sons, Bob Sosa, Clearfield; Lee (Doncene) Sosa, Roy; daughters, Joanne (Randy) Romero and Marveda (David) Matthews, Clinton; and many beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Semon, Henry, Leo, and Frank; and sisters, Nora and Carmen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella; parents, and brothers, Al and Sam; and sisters, Emma, Rachel, and Becky.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
