Fred Raymond Stutznegger

Fred Raymond Stutznegger, a former long-time resident of Ogden, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was born June 29, 1920 in Kimball, Idaho, the son of Jacob and Dora Leona Stutznegger. He lived in Idaho until the family moved to Ogden in 1938.

Fred attended Ogden schools, graduating from Ogden High School in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was given a medical discharge.

Fred married his sweetheart Lorna Bernice Hull on February 14, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Washington Terrace where they lived for 56 years until Lorna died in 2001. He later moved to Omaha, Nebraska to live with his son.

He was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and willingly served in many callings in his ward and stake.

Fred was employed at Hill Air Force Base as a sheet metal worker for 35 years.

He enjoyed photography, geology, and making beautiful hand-crafted model ships. He loved music and sang in the ward and stake choirs and performed in stake musicals. Most of all he loved his family and delighted in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed for his loving support and kind smile.

Fred is survived by two sons and one daughter, Glen (Ann) Stutznegger, Omaha, NE; Kenny Touchin, Farmington, NM; Karen (Trent) Mikesell, Roy; 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna, his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
