Frederick Dady

Frederick Ervin Dady passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in Layton, Utah. He was born on June 2, 1930 in Alta, Iowa to Frank C. and Lucy M. Christensen Dady. He married Joyce D. Pixler on April 12, 1958 in Jackson, Minnesota and the marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS temple in July, 1962.

Frederick served in the US Army and was a mechanic, as well as a member of the Rifle Team and the Honor Guard. He was later employed as a locomotive engineer for Union Pacific Railroad. During his life he was fortunate to live in a variety of places, including Alta, Iowa; Omaha, Nebraska; Santa Cruz, California; Layton, Utah; Pocatello, Idaho; and Kaysville, Utah.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served missions in Little Rock, Arkansas and the Washington DC temple. He was also a temple worker in the Bountiful temple.

Frederick is survived by his wife, Joyce, and children Glenda Walsh, Steven (Debbie) Walsh, Douglas (Marian) Walsh, Shaun “Chris” Dady, Gregory Dady, Donna (David) Mockli, Faith (Chad) Freestone, and Elisabeth (Ryan) Broomé; and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; daughter Diane Dady; grandchildren Adam Krejci and Kari Krejci.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family one hour prior to the service. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
