Frederick Don Lutz, 94, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born September 1, 1916 in Bluffton, Indiana to Harvey Alphus and Jessie E. Thornton Lutz.
On August 11, 1946, Don married Ebertha Edsinga in Reno, Nevada. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2006.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant Major during World War II. He retired as Command Sgt. Major in May 1963. During the occupation of Japan he served in General McArthur ''s Honor Guard.
Don was a member of the LDS Church in the Harrison Regent Branch.
He was also a member of the Elks. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and golfing.
Don is survived by the Hegstrom family and the Wallace family. He is also survived by a son, Dr. David (Shirley) Ellis, Wabash, IN; and a daughter, Madonna Richards, Kailua-Kona, HI.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 29th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, where Military Honors will accorded.
