Fredrick (Rick) William Dagner
Fredrick (Rick) William Dagner, 67, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Heritage Care Center. He was born on September 21, 1943 to William Frederick and Alice Harriet Grove Dagner in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
Rick was raised and educated in Minnesota and he received a BS in Avionics in Utah. He had lived in many places in the world, but had made his home in the Ogden area since 1976.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 28 years as an Avionics Tech and served in the Vietnam War where he received Air Force Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with palm.
Rick married Pien Lin Su on December 21, 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She passed away March 21, 2003.
He loved to spend time with his family, hunting, fishing, and traveling.
Rick is a member of Our Savior''s Lutheran Church in Roy. He was very active with the youth group.
He is survived by his daughter Amy Dagner (Harley) Newton, West Valley City; grandsons, Ethan, Zane and Ulrich Dagner, and one sister Mary (Charles) Novak, Rosemont, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Our Savior''s Lutheran Church in Roy, 5560 South 2300 West at 11 a.m. Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, where military honors will be accorded by the H.A.F.B. Honor Guard.
