OGDEN a€" Frutosa M. Sosa, 98, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on March 11, 1912 in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico the daughter of Semon and Carmenlita Sanchez Romero. Frutosa was raised and educated in New Mexico. She has resided in Ogden for more than 69 years.

Frutosa married Fernando P. Sosa on April 20, 1930 in New Mexico. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on May 21, 1971.

She was a member of the LDS Church Spanish American Branch.

She enjoyed going for Sunday rides on sunny days with her son Frank. Frank and Carmen were her caregivers. Frutosa liked making quilts, crocheting, watching soap operas and TV game shows. Her favorite was The Price is Right.

Surviving are her five sons, Fred (Stella) Sosa, Clearfield; Semon (Lela) Sosa, Ogden, Leo Sosa, Clearfield; Henry Sosa, Ogden; Frank Sosa, Ogden; two daughters, Nora (Ben) Hernandez, Albuquerque, NM; Carmen Sosa Gutierrez, Ogden; 50 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Alfonso and Sammy Sosa, three daughters, Emmay Allgo, Rachel Sosa and Rebecca Sosa, two grandsons, one granddaughter, two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

The family would like to thank her two grandsons Leon Cruz and Demon Sosa, and Judy Hunter R.N. for the loving care she gave to our mother and family.
