Gail Bodily Layton
Gail Bodily Layton; 79, passed away quietly on August 24, 2015 surrounded by his sons and family members. Born September 14, 1935 in Clearfield, Utah. He was a resident of Island Park Idaho. He married Mary Maxine Ottley in 1955. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Gail is preceded in death by his son Orson Kohy and his daughter ShellyAnn. He is survived by his wife of 60 years; Mary Maxine (Ottley), and son's; Kexton (Christi), Mayland (Chris), Martin (Patty), Shaun (Julia), Thadd (Mary).
Gail and Maxine have 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Gail was a Davis Dart, a BYU Cougar lover, and an avid fisherman. He loved sports of all kinds.
He loved his family and his Father in Heaven. Gail and Maxine served an LDS mission in the Montana, Billings mission, and loved all of the sweet families they taught and fellow missionaries they served with.
He was a friend to everyone he met and never met anyone that he didn't want to strike up a conversation with.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield Stake Center, 935 South State Street. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
