On Wednesday, February 28, 2018, Gail Hodgman Morrison, age 67, of West Point, Utah passed away peacefully surrounded by family.  Her passing after a long struggle with several health issues was met with sorrow, but we are comforted that she will no longer have to fight through pain and medical procedures.

Gail was born May 8, 1950 in Brigham City, Utah to Noreene and Charles Grant Hodgman, who have preceded her in death.  Gail was raised in Layton and Kaysville, Utah where she graduated from Davis High School in 1968.  She attended Weber State College majoring in architecture and art before withdrawing due to increasing health problems and rheumatoid arthritis.

Gail and her husband, Joe Morrison grew up together in Kaysville and married in the Ogden Temple on December 8, 1978.  They lived in Salt Lake City before settling in West Point.  They were later divorced.

Gail loved art ever since she was young.  She was an accomplished artist from pencil to oils to sculpture.   She found much happiness in creating meaningful art pieces for loved ones.  Gail loved her cats that brought her much comfort and companionship.  Known as Auntie Gail, she was close to her nieces and nephews whom she treated as her own children.

Though Gail suffered with debilitating health issues for most of her life, she was rarely seen without a smile on her face.  She lifted other’s spirits and found joy until the end.

Gail is survived by siblings: Roger (Christie) Hodgman and Vicki (Kerry) Miya.

The family would like to thank Gail’s ward members, friends and neighbors who have selflessly given of their time and talents for many years to ease her suffering and help carry her burdens.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the West Point Chapel, 3290 West 800 North, West Point, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
