Gale M Bramwell was born July 13, 1920 in Rigby, Idaho, the son of Ann Rhodelia Williams and Heber Mark Bramwell.
Gale died on October 25, 2018 at the age of 98 in Layton, UT where he had resided for 10 years.
Gale grew up in Rigby, Idaho and graduated from Rigby high school in 1938. As a young adult, Gale was a gifted musician, playing the trumpet and organizing his own band. In 1940, Gale enlisted in the US Army Air Corps later becoming the US Air Force .
Gale was married to Izetta May Hancock on June 2, 1942 in Urbana, Illinois. They were sealed on August 31, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. Gale’s military appointments included flight controller, weather forecaster, and Gale was selected to be one of the first Air Force jet pilots. His military assignments took him to Illinois, California, Florida, Montana, England, Arizona, Texas and Utah. After military service Gale chose to settle with his family in Rigby, Idaho where Gale built their family home. The family also spent 3 years in Oregon.
Gale had many talents and hobbies including flying, photography, music and woodworking which he often shared with friends and family.
Active in the LDS church, Gale served in many callings and was an avid Family History expert, writing family history computer programs and volunteering his time to teach and assist others in their family history efforts.
Gale is survived by a son, Denton (wife, Maxine) of Layton UT and a daughter Marteen Jensen (husband, Clyde) of St. George, UT. Gale has six grandchildren and 30 great and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Izetta Hancock, and half brothers, Verd Edwards, William F. Edwards, Reuben Edwards and Alton Bramwell and grandson Eric Riley Bramwell.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit with family Monday, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah.
Interment will follow at the Central (Grant), Idaho Cemetery.
