Garland Kay Miller, 75, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014.
He was born August 6, 1938 in Preston, Idaho, a son of Christian Stein Miller and Cleone Andersen Miller.
On October 7, 1983, Garland married Teresa Sangberg in Draper, Utah. They have resided in West Point for 20 years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He served in the Utah National Guard and Army Reserves for 15 years.
Garland was employed by Decker Lake Youth Center as a maintenance supervisor. He was a master carpenter. He enjoyed puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, fishing and hunting.
Garland is survived by his wife, Teresa, West Point; one son, Kevin Garland Miller, Ogden; three daughters, Brenda (Robert) Robley, Pocatello, ID; Rhonda Robins, Harrisville; Teresa Wheelwright, Ogden; step-son, Michael Prokopis, Milford, MA; step-daughters, Annie Bigler, South Weber; Athena (Ned) Reilly, Fairfax, VA; Katrina (Steve) Hogan, Bend, OR; 20 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Cleone Duncan, Ogden; and Joan Miller, Ogden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Marvin Miller, grandparents Christian and Rose Andersen, Soren Christian and Emma Jensine Holst Miller.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 23rd at 11 a.m. at the West Point Cemetery, 40 North 4000 West.
The family will meet with friends Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
