Garnet Jan Keyes

Garnet Jan Keyes, 63, passed away at his home, Wednesday, November 19, 2008.

He was born June 11, 1945 in Ogden, Utah to Russell and Dorothy Forester Keyes.

On June 28, 1969, Jan married Barbara Blair in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He lived his entire life in the Ogden area, graduating from Weber High School in 1964.

Jan joined the US Navy where he served during the Vietnam War.

He received his Associates Degree in Fire Science from Utah Technical College in 1977. Jan served as a Firefighter/EMT at Hill Air Force Base retiring in 1995 after 31 years of Federal Service. After his retirement, he worked at the Riverdale Wal-Mart, Schneiter''s Riverside Golf Course and Eagle Lake Golf Course.

Jan loved the outdoors, camping, ATV riding, golfing and most of all he loved collecting Boyd''s Bears.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, a daughter, Karen, a son, James (Nicole), grandchildren, Shelby, Corey, and his mother, Dorothy F. Adams.

Jan was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 24th at 1:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
