Garry Dahl
September 15, 1937 ~ November 17, 2015
Garry was born on September 15, 1937 to Arlene Simpson Dahl and Elmer Dahl; Elmer passed away in May of 1937 having never gotten the opportunity to meet his new baby son. Garry was raised in Hooper and Kanesville by his mother and stepfather, Jack H. Weaver. He attended Weber County schools and graduated from Weber High School. Garry proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a communications specialist from 1955 to 1958 and was honorably discharged.
During his civilian career Garry was employed as a programmer for various companies. In 1958 Garry married Marsha Coughlin in Sacramento, Ca. They had four children during their marriage – Jodea, Kevin, Jackie, and Shane. Garry and Marsha divorced in 1970.
In 1976 Garry met and married the love of his life, Sharon Gloria Strebel Gleave. Sharon had 3 children – Celeste, Robert, and Trina. They moved their families to Washington Terrace in 1977, where they resided until 2000 when Garry and Sharon retired and moved to Beaver Dam, Az.
Garry loved to be out of doors soaking up the sunshine. His garden was his labor of love, where he grew vegetables, flowers, and fruits. He loved working with his hands, especially wood and leather working. His favorite joy was talking about his family and recalling the great times they all shared together.
Garry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sharon. After their 23 months apart they are once again embracing one another in joy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
