KAYSVILLE - Garth Hanks King, age 87, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 of causes incident to age, surrounded by family at his home. He was born March 26, 1927 in Clearfield, Utah to Florien Barnes King and Phyllis Eldora Hanks. He married Doris Gunnell Wood on June 18, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. She died November 9, 1994. He married May Druce Webb on May 17, 1996.
He was a faithful member of the LDS Church. He worked in the construction industry for over 40 years and was a master craftsman in all types of wood-working. He is survived by his wife, May, and his 5 children, Scott (Sharon), Kathy Buchanan, Laurie (Dennis) Miller, Jim (Charlene), Marla (Lance) Robinson, 5 step-children Michael Webb, Julie (Price) Merrit, Lance (Stephanie) Webb, Rodney (Aimee) Webb, Susan (Dan) Delahunty, 17 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents, siblings Colleen and Robert, son-in-law Mark Buchanan, grandson Michael King, and great-grandson Weston Buchanan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 13 th Ward, 875 E 200 N, Kaysville. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main, Kaysville, and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
