Gary Hobbs Andersen

SUMAS, Washington - Gary Hobbs Andersen, age 53, went to be with his Heavenly Father after a valiant battle with cancer on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the home of his brother Clyde in Sumas, WA.

Gary was born January 2, 1957 in Ogden, Utah to Arvie Jonas and Dorothy Dean Hobbs Andersen. Gary was a kind and gentle man who had spent much of his life as caregiver to both his mother and father.

He had also been employed by Southern Pacific Railroad, worked in construction, and as a long haul truck driver.

Gary enjoyed music and played the accordion. He also loved to go fishing and was an avid reader.

Gary is survived by brothers Richard (Shari) of Layton; and Clyde (Leslie) of Sumas, WA; and sister Nadine (Curt) Goodwin of Ogden. Gary is also survived by many nephews and nieces who fondly remember how he would talk to them in his "duck" voice.

Gary was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.
