Gary C. Bohning
Gary C. Bohning, 66, died of natural causes Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Ogden Regional Hospital.
He was born August 21, 1945 in St. Louis Missouri, the son of Ruthe Wise.
On June 21, 1969 Gary married the love of his life Joan Rorabaugh in Clearfield, UT.
He grew up in St. Louis MO and Houston TX and graduated from Berkley High School in St. Louis. He was an accomplished athlete as a young man.
Gary entered the Air Force in 1965 ultimately to serve his country in the Vietnam War – stationed in Thailand.
Gary worked hard using the G.I. bill to put himself through college and then on to earn his D.C in chiropractic care.
He was always a very active member in Clearfield Community Church, Washington Heights Church, and Mountain View Baptist church. He served in various roles including church moderator, youth leader for over 9 years, board member, and more.
Gary was beloved by all who came in contact with him and it is safe to say the he “never met a stranger.”
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Joan, a son Barcley, and daughter-in-law Lyndie, of Boise ID; and daughter, Joy of Denver, CO; sister Sandy of Phoenix; brother Frank of TX. He is also survived by three grandsons, Blake, Carson, and Trey, who he affectionately called “The 3 Amigos.”
His hobbies included golf, watching his grandsons play sports, golf, photography, church service, and golf.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church, 2585 E. 3000 N. Layton, UT. 84041.
Cremation under the direction of Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
