Gary Boyd Charlesworth, son of Benjamin F. and Ruth Marian Gilles Charlesworth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. He lived his life for his sweet wife (they still loved each other like newlyweds after 55 years), for his 5 children, for his grandchildren, great grandchild and everyone else he met.
Gary was born August 2, 1936 and grew up in Ogden. He graduated from the U of U with a BFA in Architecture. On June 13, 1958, Gary married his sweetheart, Jody Huband in the Logan LDS Temple.
Gary served in the Air National Guard for 6 years. He was the Ogden Kiwanis Club President and Lt. Governor of the Utah-Idaho Kiwanis district. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and served as Chairman of the Downtown Development Committee.
Gary took over his father''s business, Colorite Inc., and also owned two retail stores specializing in paint and wall coverings. In the late 1980''s, Gary became a real estate broker. He received many awards, including Commercial Realtor of the Year, Lifetime Sales Master, and Top Sales, Closing and Listing Agent.
He served in many callings in the LDS church, including Elders Quorum President, Young Men''s President, and as the High Priest Group Leader. He most enjoyed his many years serving as a Cub Master.
Gary''s favorite place was his cabin in Island Park, Idaho, where he enjoyed fly fishing on the Buffalo River and spending time with his family. Each member of his family held a special place in his heart.
Gary is survived by his wife Jody, his children, Jed, Bret, Denise, Brian, Culley and their spouses; 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He touched the lives of others in ways he will never understand. Wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. We love you!
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7th, at 11 a.m. at the Ogden 3rd Ward Chapel, 373 15th Street. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
