Gary Gene Denton

January 31, 1946 ~ March 8, 2018

Gary Gene Denton, known for his excellent wood working skills, being a “Jack of all Trades”, and being the best husband, father, and grandfather, anyone could hope for, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 in Murray, Utah. He was 72 years old.

Gary was born in Vancouver, Clark County, Washington on January 31, 1946. He was the youngest of 10 children. He grew up learning to work hard in the farmlands of Washougal, Washington.

He is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon return he met Juanita Faye Buckmaster and they were married in January 1969.

His free spirit and willingness to work hard led him to become self-employed and he created Denton Installations and installed floor coverings for 32 years. Throughout those years he enjoyed wood working, taking his daughters and grandchildren fishing, and teaching his daughters how to build furniture and how to be handy around their homes. He retired and enjoyed spending his time outdoors in his yard and working in his wood shop, where he would design and build furniture and original knives. He loved to be surrounded by his family and could very often be found supporting all his grandchildren in various sporting events or finding ways to enjoy their company.

He was a proud husband, dad, and grandpa; he would beam with pride anytime he spoke of his family. He was quick to make friends, and his friendly nature made it easy for people to love him quickly after they met him. He was admired by many and loved by all.

Daddy, we miss you already!

Gary is preceded in death by his grandson Mason Williams, his parents James and Evelyn Ruby Waite Denton, his siblings, Robert, Roberta, Leola, Howard, Alberta, and Lois. Gary is survived by his wife, Juanita, three daughters: Christina (Duane) Arbogast, Rhonda (Ryan) Gallegos, and Shannon (David) Williams, six grandchildren: Austin, Cheyenne, Jackson, Morgan, Abby, and Hunter, and his siblings: Clyde, Larry, and Carol.
