Gary L. Gale
OGDEN – Gary L. Gale, 70, passed away unexpectedly while elk hunting in the mountains with his son.
He was born September 2, 1939 in Ogden, a son of Harold and Deo Tombs Gale.
On March 4, 1977, Gary married Rebecca Fleming in Granger, Utah.
Gary was a graduate of Weber College and the University of Utah Law School. He began his career in San Francisco and practiced law in Utah for over 40 years. He not only practiced law, he loved the law and was committed to the concept of justice. Gary was a generous man, giving in abundance and without hesitation. His charitable, unselfish character was extended to the community, those in need, and with endless extravagance to his family. He was merciful and kind. He was proud, private and professional.
He was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship and a sponsor of local and world Christian missions and orphans.
Gary was a member of the Utah/California Bar Association, the Safari Club International and the N.R.A.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca, of Ogden; two daughters, Rebecca L. Gale (Dwight Melancon) and Seren Gale-Jackson (Damon Jackson), his son and best friend, Nick C. Gale; and his true friend and office administrator for 26 years, Nancy Carter.
Also surviving is his brother, Brent (Sally) Gale.
Preceding Gary in death were his parents.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 3350 South Harrison Blvd (on the hill east of Harrison).
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
At Gary’s requests, he will be cremated under the direction of Lindquist’s Crematory.
