Gary Lee Kriese
1958 ~ 2018
Gary was born in Rochester, New York to Brenda Joyce McKinney and Clinton Joseph Kriese. He passed away in his home due to complications of Type II Diabetes on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. He lived a full, happy life always wanting to learn and do more.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. He loved studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon, US History and the Constitution.
Gary was always experimenting with his garden and how to make things grow better and faster, this included raising bees—he wasn’t too successful with the bees, they kept flying off. He was fascinated by the stars and all that astronomy had to offer, always wondering what was out there. He hated the radio because of commercials but loved music. He loved to play the drums and when he was little, he was known by his dad as the Little Drummer Boy. He’d tap to any beat and on most surfaces. His favorite singers were: John Denver, The Beatles, The Mavericks, Elvis, Walk Of The Earth, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He loved “funny” and he’d quote several lines from movies to anyone who’d listen, most of which his wife, Janice, didn’t get. His favorite sitcom was “FRIENDS”. His favorite color was purple. His life’s work was genealogy and he’d beg people to let him help them get started on their Family History. He enjoyed camping with a purpose—genealogy.
Gary is survived by his wife, Janice Hood; his sons, Shawn Kriese (Joy), Nicolas Kriese (Amanda), Michael Kriese, and Jared Kriese (Amber); daughters, Tanya Kriese, Amy Kriese, and Shannon Kriese Tuel (Brandon); and brother, Steven Kriese (Tracy). He has 32 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kevin Dean Floor; and his son, Gary Lee Kriese, Jr.
