Gary William Marcus

Gary William Marcus, 74, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 7, 2016. He was born on September 14, 1941 in San Francisco, California to Ross William and Elsie Cochran Marcus. Gary grew up in San Francisco and the family moved to Utah when he was 12 years old.
He received his welding certification from Weber State and used that certification at Hill Air Force Base, Parsons, and Jet Way. After retirement he drove the school bus for the disabled.
Gary married Colleen Tavey in 1961 and they later divorced. He married Ina Redford Young on February 21, 1986 in Farmington, Utah and they spent the last 30 years enjoying life together.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as the ward mission leader, home teacher, and nursery teacher.
Gary loved riding his motorcycle with Ina. He belonged to two motorcycle clubs; Klunker Club and Golden Spike Bikers. Gary liked to eat anything he could get his hands on. He also loved to golf.
Gary is survived by his wife, Ina; son, Mike (Jeannette); daughters, Michele (Nick) and Charmayne (George); Ina’s children, James Young, Daniel Young, Ray (Sonya) Young, Annette (Brad) Wood, and Jerod Young; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Terry (Lori); sister, Karen (Darrell) Pilgreen; and Ina’s brother and sisters, Gene, Neil, LaRee, Ruth, Julie, Sharol, and Linda. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany; parents, and three of Ina’s siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
