Gary Lynn Snider
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Gary Lynn Snider slipped into his Savior’s arms on July 19, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family, following a long hard fought battle with brain cancer.
Gary was raised and educated in Ogden, graduating in 1965 from Ben Lomond High School. He worked for several businesses as a meat cutter until he decided to return to college in 1979. He then worked at Union Pacific Railroad while he attended college.
Gary married the love of his life Eileen Heap on July 18, 1966 in Preston, Idaho and later became eternal companions in the Salt Lake Temple in 1969. They were blessed with three children to whom he was a devoted and loving father, and 11 grandchildren who were his hearts greatest treasures.
He graduated from Weber State University in 1983 in Manufacturing Engineering. Gary worked for Thiokol where he developed many friendships until he retired after 26 years working on the Space Shuttle Program.
Gary loved working in his yard and garage, spending time with his family, and serving others. He was always willing to give where it was needed. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Gary faithfully served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Gary is survived by his wife, Eileen; children, Todd (Lori), Erin (Eric) Young, and Jeff (Eryn); sister, DeAnn (Craig) Clawson; brother-in-law, Brent (Joan) Heap; and sister-in-law, Gayle (Stephen) Johnson; and Uncle Cecil Shaw; 10 grandchildren, Carrigan, Preston, Logan, Peyton, Kadee, Morgan, Amelia, Grace, Noah, and Luke. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Zelma Snider; his inlaws, Elmer and Nellie Heap; and one grandchild, Sara.
