Gary Lee Zollinger
After a long battle with cancer, Gary L. Zollinger, 58 passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2007.
Devoted to his large and extensive family, Gary is survived by his wife, Thelissa, six children, Jodi (Mike) Williams, Stephanie, Nathan, Alyson, Jamie, Ashley and his three granddaughters, Hannah, Haley and Kate as well as his father, Clinton, and six siblings, Ruth Ann (Roger) Davis, Marie Woodfield, Richard (Lezlie), Martha (Paul) Hess, Karen Taylor, Ed (Edon). Preceded in death by his mother Ethel and infant brother Dennis.
Born October 3, 1948 in Logan, Utah, Gary learned early the value of hard work, integrity and faith in God. He served as a missionary in Austria for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints (1968-70) and earned a BS degree from Utah State University with an MBA from the University of Utah.
Gary spent over 30 years in the oil, gas and pipeline industry most recently with Pacific Energy Group where he served as Senior Vice President. In addition to his career, he also served extensively in the LDS Church including Bishop and High Councilor.
Gary will forever be remembered for his kind and gentle demeanor, his selflessness and his constant concern for others. He was acutely aware of those suffering from cancer and recently established an endowment through the University of Colorado for research in early lung cancer detection.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood. Friends and family may call Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.
