Gay Butters Kershaw

October 11, 1932 ~ October 15, 2015

Gay Butters Kershaw, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2015.  She was born on October 11, 1932 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Willis Harry and Elma Gladys Marlin Butters.

She married Junius Harold Kershaw, Jr. on September 22, 1951 in Ogden, Utah.  Junius passed away in 1996.

Gay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Washington Terrace 8th Ward.  She was also a member of Lions Ladies.

Mom was adventurous and liked to have fun.  She was an avid fan of the Jazz during the era when Stockton and Malone were playing.

Gay leaves many memories with her sons, Scott Devon Kershaw and Russell George Kershaw; daughters, Diann Gay (Woody) Trappett, Sheila Ann Kershaw, Elaine Elma (Michael) Kershaw-Hertzke; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and sister, Arleen Norris.  She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Gwen Kimber; grandson, Richard Lee Kershaw; brothers, Dale Butters, Lyle Butters, James Marlin Baggs; and sister, Beth Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family would like express their sincerest thanks to everyone at Hospice of Utah.  We cannot see their wings, but we know that they are there.
