Gayle Elizabeth Higgs-Seideman
December 3, 1936 – March 5, 2015
My beloved Gayle gently went to be with her Lord after an extended illness resulting from injuries from a fall, leaving a void in my heart for a time – until a joyful reunion in Heaven where there will be no more goodbyes.
Gayle was born to James and Gladys (Eastman) Higgs and grew up on the family farm in Layton, where she attended school, graduating from Davis High in 1954. She attended Clearfield Community Church where she met Gary, who she married on March 1, 1958, having just celebrated 58 years of marriage.
They traveled a number of times with the Air Force before returning to Utah to raise their family. She later returned to work at McKay Dee Hospital and later retired after 13 years in 1994 from Davis School District as an administrative secretary.
Gayle loved God, her family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress and knitted beautifully, gifting many afghans to others. She and Gary traveled frequently, especially enjoying St. George, Sedona, Coronado Island, and RV camping at Echo Island in Coalville with numerous friends.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, her son Randy, grandchildren and beloved sister, Audrey James, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Kaysville City Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. under the direction of Pastor John Parsley of Clearfield Community Church. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ogden Rescue Mission, 2775 Wall Ave, Ogden, UT 84401.
