Gaylen Ray Rammell
KAYSVILLE a" Gaylen Ray Rammell, 69, passed away June 6, 2008 from complications due to leukemia.
He was born 21 Jan 1939 in Idaho Falls, ID, the only child to Myron Ray Rammell and Irene Fay Robinson.
He married Nadene Rue in 1959. They had three children together before divorcing in 1977. He married the love of his life, Linda Thiel on April 5, 1996 in Lake Tahoe.
Gaylen retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after 42 years of service where he worked in the Signal Department.
Gaylen loved the outdoors, golfing, boating, fishing and sitting around the campfire. He loved working with his hands and always had a home project going at their home in Utah, their get-away in Mesquite NV or at his mother-in-law''s home in CA. He had a special love for his children and grandchildren, but there was a very special love for his first great grandson, which he got to hold for the first time a week before becoming ill.
He is survived by his wife Linda, two daughters, Pam (Dave) Jenkins Centerville, UT; Michelle (Shaun) Fleming Carlin NV; two stepsons, Rob (Polly) Palmer Herriman, UT; Blake Palmer Layton, UT; nine grandchildren Eric Fleming, Melisa Fleming, Cameron Fleming, Spencer Jenkins, Kira Jones, Kennedi Palmer, Kyler Palmer, Karson Palmer, Tomi Sue Rammell, one great grandson Peyton Thuringer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Mikel Ray Rammell and grandson Steven Jenkins.
The family would like to thank the ICU Team at the University of Utah Hospital for their dedication and loving care in the eight weeks Gaylen was there.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Lindquist''s Layton Chapel, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service.
