Gaylene Lake Goede

Gaylene Lake Goede, 83 passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024, in St. George, Utah. She was born May 27, 1940, in Castle Dale, Utah to Jay Charles Lake and Elma Cox Lake.

 

She married Dale Franklin Goede on September 17, 1960, in Layton, Utah. Later they were sealed together for all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple January 17, 1964. They had 5 beautiful children, Franklin Dale Goede, Layton, Utah, Kelly Jean Stenquist (Mike), Henrico, Virginia, Teri Lynn Prymak (David), Woodbridge, Virginia, Kevin Dale Goede, and Colette Janine Eppley (Aaron), St. George, Utah.

 

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, and was a Senior Missionary in Lima, Peru East Mission.

 

She lived in many places that she loved which were, Washington, Utah, Layton, Utah, Tacoma, Washington, and Honolulu, Hawaii.

 

She worked as a Beautician, Secretary, Artist, Cub Scouts District Leader and was a wonderful Homemaker.

 

She had many hobbies which she enjoyed such as painting, woodworking, jewelry making, embroidery, sewing, cooking, food preservation, fast pitch softball, waterskiing, hunting, camping, fishing, square dancing, and ballroom dancing.

 

Gaylene had nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren who she dearly loved and enjoyed.

 

She is preceded in death by Kevin Dale Goede (son), Jack Robert Lake, (brother), Jay Charles Lake, (father) and Elma M. Cox (mother).

 

The Goede family would like to thank St. George Regional Hospital and their staff, Meadows Escalante Memory Care and Corey Jenkins and their staff, Summit Hospice, Paula Vu and Nate for their loving, knowledgeable and tender care of Gaylene and her family throughout this journey.

 

Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

 

Interment. Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Ogden, Utah.
